Projects and Activities

  1. To establish a computerized library to meet the needs of researchers across disciplines and interests.
  2. To organize conferences and special study sessions in addition to monthly meetings and linguistic and literary workshops.
  3. To announce annual scholarships for research in Arabic in accordance with the Academy’s policy. Parts of the researches will be conducted in the office of the Academy in Al-Qasemi College and will be produced later under the supervision and financial support of the Academy.
  4. To establish a collection of Arabic manuscripts to meet the needs of researchers in all higher education institutions in Israel. The collection will be in correspondence with peer institutions in the Arab world.
  5. To establish an archive for Palestinian prints prior to 1948 with special focus on literary and scientific books, newspapers and magazines, and Palestinian cultural activities in the pre 1948 era.
  6. To issue an Encyclopedia of local Palestinian literature since 1948 until now that includes contribution of local prominent researchers as well as researchers from the West Bank and Gaza.
  7. To issue a refereed scientific periodical specializing in Arabic language and literature. It will be edited by prominent local scholars in language and research.
  8. To issue monthly, quarterly and annual periodicals to update those of interest in the field on the activities and latest research of the Academy.
  9. To launch a special website for the Academy with all its publications and information on the Academy’s goals and future programs and channels of correspondence.
  10. To issue a dictionary for Modern Arabic in three parts for elementary, secondary, and high school students as well as for students at the university level, teacher training institutions and intellectuals.
  11. To provide linguistic and academic consultation for all departments in Al-Qasemi College.
  12. To launch a special website for school children of all levels titled “Baraem El-Ibdaa” (Seeds of Creativity) to encourage creative writing in poetry, prose and essay.
