Al Qasemi Academy at a Glance
Al-Qasemi Academy Preparing graduates who are proud of their deeply rooted culture, capable of engaging in a meaningful interaction and dialogue with individuals of different cultures, and who are in constant search for the truth in a conflict-ridden postmodern global era is a heavy trust that Al-Qasemi officials and staff members have shouldered. The college aims at graduating students who can efficiently handle unprecedented amounts of information and courageously face challenges and turn them into opportunities to facilitate the ground for more progress, prosperity and development in their society and effect the desired positive change. To achieve this goal, college officials have fostered a real sense of belonging to their college and community, committed themselves to high academic standards and internalized a strong sense of social and personal responsibility. Besides which, in line with its well-founded organizational culture, the college has promoted conflict resolution and critical thinking strategies, while providing an ample space for questions, alternative solutions and different viewpoints. Gender equity, equality and female empowerment are among the college's main priorities due to their impact on the socio-economic status and the standard of living of all individuals. Furthermore, the college has encouraged its staff and students to conduct advanced research, carefully verify data and information, treat details meticulously, differentiate facts from opinions and draw lessons by analyzing facts with an open mindset. Believing firmly in its universal human message, the college has won the respect and admiration of lots of prestigious academic institutions both at home and abroad.

As of today, the college serves more than 3000 students of diverse cultural and social backgrounds, who study for the B. Ed., M. Ed. degrees or take In-service Training courses in about twelve different fields of specialization: Islamic Studies, Arabic Language and Literature, Hebrew Language and Literature, English Language and Literature, Mathematics, Early childhood, Special Education, Exact sciences, Computer Science, General Education, Excellent Track Program, etc…..

Establishment of the College
Located in Baqa Al Garbiah, an Arab town in the Northern Triangle, Al-Qasemi was founded in 1989, at the initiative of Al-Qasemi Khalwati Sufi Way, to be one of its cultural and academic institutions. When the Academy was first established, his Excellency the late Shiekh Afeef Hussnieddin Al Qasemi headed its board of trustees until 1998. Following his death, he was succeeded by his Excellency Sheikh Abdel Raouf Al Qasemi, who has set for himself an ultimate goal of turning the college into the first Arab university in the country. Al-Qasemi started as a college for Sharee’a and Islamic studies and received its first official recognition from the Ministry of Education and Culture to award the Senior Teacher Certificate in 1993 and won the recognition of Al Azhar University in 1995. Over the years, the Academy expanded to include various fields of specialization: Islamic studies, Arabic language, English language, Hebrew Language and Literature, Mathematics, Computer Science, Exact Science, Special Education, and Early Childhood Education.

In 2002 the Academy received the first official recognition of the Council for Higher Education to grant the B. Ed. Degree in different fields of specialization. In 2011, it won the Council’s recognition to grant the M. Ed. Degree in the following subjects: Mathematical education, Teaching and Learning, Physical Education, Teaching Islamic Religion, Early Education, English Language and Literature. Maintaining high academic standards and a solid organizational culture have won the college the National Award for Quality and Excellence in 2009. Now work is underway to prepare a plan for an M. Teaching Degree and two other plans for B. Ed. in Math, and English language teaching for the Primary Track.

To solidify its positive communal role and advance its outreach programs, the college has established a number of community centers and institutes. These include: The Centre for Islamic Studies and Manuscripts, the Fatwa (Islamic Ruling) Center, the Computer Unit, the Library, the Museum of Antiquities, the Teaching and Learning Resource Center, Al Qasemi Arabic Language Academy, the Mathematics Center, the English Language Center, the Research Center, the Center for Early Childhood, the Center for Children's Literature, the Parental and Family Center, Center for Multiculturalism, Al Qasemi Labs for Science Teaching, Computer Labs, the Center for Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Al Qasemi Center for Scientific Research and Al Qasemi Educational Radio.

In addition to the above mentioned, there is a large number of institutions which are affiliated to Shiekh Hussnieddin Al Qasemi Followers Society; Faculty of Engineering and Science: Engineering Chemistry-Food Technology, Civil Engineering-Construction Management, Architecture and Interior Design, Engineering and Computer Programming, Engineering and Biotechnology, Integrated Program, Complimentary Program, Complementary Medicine College, Al Qasemi Upper Elementary Private School, Ryad Al Saleheen network of Kindergartens, Cultural Foundation, all under the supervision of Al Qasemi Academy.
